So here we are, another incredible adventure for those of you who want to see a New Wonder of the World whilst incorporating some breath-taking hiking. It’s definitely a trip for those that want to challenge themselves physically whilst being transported into a landscape that is like no other.

Starting off with an overnight stay in Amman, the first full day sets you on shepherds trails leading down to the Dead Sea where you will spend the afternoon. Then it’s off to Petra to explore the lost cities, tombs and lesser known parts for two days. A 4×4 tour through the desert to Wadi Rum, you’ll see the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, sand dunes and rock bridges. With 2 nights staying in a Bedouin Camp and experiencing amazing hospitality you have the choice of sleeping under canvas or under the stars before heading to Madaba – another unique landscape where 6th-century mosaics take centre stage.

Hiking is on the itinerary most days, at times there will be some clambering over rocks and certainly, you’ll need a good level of fitness for the adventure. The price above does not include flights as we wanted to give you the option of where to fly from. As a guide, there are direct flights to Jordan from Heathrow at £450 with BA and indirect flights for £250. If you are happy to shop around there are definitely bargains to be had. Intrepid Travel will be on hand to help you throughout the booking process and will happily sort out flights for you if required.

People generally want to know what the weather will be like. April is a great time to go, the temperatures are warming up, but there’s still a chill in the air at night. There is very little rainfall and the wildflowers are starting to emerge on some of the tracks that we will be walking.
