The itinerary is a great blend of adventure (hiking/rafting), history (walking tour/monasteries), and relaxing (meals and beach). My highlight was swimming in the cold blue springs at the bottom of Vikos Gorge.

This is my only group hiking adventure for 2026, spaces are limited and often sell out fast, so we recommend acting quickly!
I’m so excited to launch my next hiking adventure for 2026, and we’re heading back to Greece! With such positive feedback from last year’s trip (honestly, the reviews were incredible), it made sense to re-visit Northern Greece for another hiking adventure. We’ll be visiting Greece in the early summertime so I’ve made sure there’s plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the sun in between hikes, exploring and rafting. With just 1 date for this epic adventure, act fast to secure your space.
Arrive in the vibrant city of Thessaloniki, which offers an incredible range of historic sites to explore. We’ll start with a welcome meeting and dinner in Thessaloniki so we can all get to know each other, before we get hiking on day two. However, I’d highly recommend coming a little earlier so you can explore the city before the trip starts.
On our first full day, we’ll travel towards Kalambaka, stopping off at Mount Olympus, the home of the ancient Greek Gods. We’ll head out on our first 11km hike to the Enipeas Gorge, led by an experienced mountain guide. We’ll be crossing one of Greece’s most iconic landscapes with incredible views throughout. We’ll pass waterfalls and natural pools to reach the Enipeas Gorge, one of the most well known landforms in Mount Olympus. From here, we’ll continue the journey to Kalambaka.
Included Activities
- Enipeas Gorge Hike – Moderate, 5-6 hrs, ↔ 11 km, ↑ 708 m, ↓ 1,428 m
- Professional Mountain Guide
- Agios Dionisis Monastery, Picnic Lunch
On day three, we have a a very exciting trip to Meteora planned. If you don’t already know, Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for a series of monasteries that sit on top of towering rock formations. It looks incredible and we’ll get to explore the historic monasteries and hike a trail around the rock formations for some unforgettable views.
Included Activities
- Meteora – Guided Monasteries Visit
- Meteora Hike – Easy, 2-3 hrs, ↔ 7.3 km, ↑ 418 m, ↓ 522 m
On the 4th day, we’ll give our legs a rest and make our arms do the work with an exhilirating white water rafting experience through Venetikos and Aliakmonas. These rivers are surrounded by lush landscapes making them a beautiful setting for a morning of rafting. We’ll then dry off and continue to the charming, historical city of Ioannina, known for the beautiful Lake Pamvotida, where we can enjoy some time to explore.
Included Activities
- Venetikos and Aliakmonas - Rafting
On day five we’re back to hiking with our expert mountain guide in Kleidonia. This time, we’ll take on the Vikos Gorge Crossing hike, a 16km trail that will see us travel through one of the deepest gorges in the world. We’ll get to see the rugged beauty of northern Greece with incredible views of the mountains around us.
Included Activities
- Vikos Gorge Crossing Hike, Moderate, 6 hrs, ↔ 16.2 km, ↑ 636 m, ↓ 800 m
After all the hiking and rafting so far, I want to give you the option to sit back, relax and enjoy some downtime. So on day six, the day’s activity is completely up to you. You can either stay at our hotel and local area – there is a pool at the hotel where you can chill, swim and sunbathe. Alternatively, you can join a beautiful 16km hike to Dragon Lake with our guide. This hike takes us through Greece’s alpine scenery with panoramic views of the mountains and valleys. The hike then ends at the serene Dragon Lake, a high-altitiude alpine lake known for its crystal clear waters. It’s a challenging one but well worth the ascent!

On our last full day, we’ll be heading back to Thessaloniki, with a beach stop on the way along the journey. On the final morning, we’ll eat our last breakfast together before making our way home.

To ensure comfort and safe travel on the narrow mountain roads of the Zagoria region, where a larger coach cannot operate, if the group is full, we kindly ask guests to bring smaller or medium-sized luggage to help us manage space comfortably in the transport bus.
One of the most unforgettable parts of this adventure is visiting Meteora, the iconic UNESCO World Heritage site known for its monasteries perched high on towering rock formations.
With a guided monasteries visit and a scenic hike through the surrounding trails, you’ll experience this extraordinary landscape from every angle, a perfect mix of history, culture, and time out in nature.

The girls I met on the trip - what an amazing bunch of beautiful souls! The girls really made the trip and I loved every single minute of it. Zanna really has a back of bringing like minded individuals together.
Couldn’t think of a better holiday. Loved every moment! Amazing trip with a great group of people

Absolutely amazing group of women, positive leader (Zanna) and surreal experience to tick off a bucket list experience!
I learned so much on this trip; not only about this lesser-known, beautiful, culturally-rich part of Greece; but about myself and my capabilities. Thank you Zanna.
From start to finish this was a perfectly curated trip that ticked all the boxes with scenery, adventure and sight seeing.
I’m so grateful to Zanna for scheduling this trip - I would have been too scared to do a liveaboard on my own. I have made friendships and memories to last a lifetime!
